Romance mode was the part of the chat I rated highest during my Premium subscription, and the memory is what made it work for me: what I had told her earlier stayed part of the conversation. The exchanges are short and fluid, with the rhythm of texting.

Picture the end of a long day. You open Romance mode and she picks up where you left off, asking whether you meant what you told her last night. Her lines are short, a little teasing, and she keeps the thread going for as long as you do.

Among people who stay with Candy, the pictures come up first. They build her face once, and the woman in the next image is the same woman. More than one subscriber likes having both sides of the app: a large catalog to browse, and a builder that lets them make the companion they had in mind. Others value something plainer. The builder sets looks, body, personality, voice and hobbies. Around it sits a large catalog: ready-made companions, scenario characters, more than 100 episodic video series under the Candy Shorts name and licensed digital twins of real creators. OurDream AI and Swipey AI share the 10.

Media studio: 9.5

Images are the most praised part of Candy, and the V2 engine released in late 2025 keeps a character’s face the same from one picture to the next. Live Action, its interactive video, upgraded in February 2026, runs clips of up to 120 seconds on a selection of characters, and Candy places third in the ranking of the most realistic AI girlfriend apps. Candy sends voice messages, and its live calls were labeled beta in September 2026; Swipey AI holds the list’s only 10 for media, with live voice calls.

In the builder you gave her shoulder-length dark hair and gray-green eyes. You ask for a photo on a beach at noon, and a few days later one in a black evening dress by a window at night. Different light, different mood, and the same face looking back at you.

Short exchanges read fluidly, and Romance mode is the strongest part of the chat, as described above. Girlfriend GPT takes this round with 9.5, on long replies and detailed roleplay across about 29,000 community characters, and OurDream AI scores 9.0 on writing quality and character consistency over long runs.

Candy’s memory carries a Romance storyline well. For stories that run over weeks, its answer is Premium Plus and its 20 memory slots. OurDream AI takes this round by a full point, with four documented memory layers and details that paying members can pin.

How much does Candy AI cost?

Premium is one plan sold on three commitments. Every version pairs unlimited texting with a 100-token monthly allowance, and those tokens pay for everything beyond text. The prices below come from Candy’s plan page, US view, read in October 2026.

The yearly plan is the one to buy. Per month it costs 29 percent of the monthly price, and the $47.88 you pay upfront is less than four months of month-to-month billing.

Premium Plus sits above it with 330 tokens a month and 20 memory slots. It also adds user personas, plus a 10 percent token bonus on every token purchase, as Candy’s token shop shows. The US plan page shows no dollar price for it. For most readers, the $3.99 yearly Premium plan on Candy AI is the right starting point, with Premium Plus as the upgrade once memory slots start to matter.

What do Candy AI tokens buy?

Candy does not publish a price per action. The figures most often quoted in guides to Candy are these:

The monthly allowance therefore covers roughly 25 to 50 images. Packs are listed from $9.99 for 100 tokens up to $299.99 for 3,750. I opened the token shop during Candy’s anniversary promotion and did not buy a pack. Candy’s terms reset unused tokens at renewal and on cancellation, so a pack pays off when you spend it before the next bill.

Value for money scores 9.25: $3.99 on the yearly plan and $13.99 month to month both sit in the top bands of the rubric, and expiring tokens take half a point back. You can try it without a card. A free account gets five messages in total, shared across all characters, plus one custom character and one image. That is enough to meet her and see how she writes before you choose a plan; everything after that comes with Premium.

1. Open candy.ai in your browser. Candy runs on the web; on iPhone you can add it to the home screen from Safari and open it like an app. Apps named Candy on Google Play come from other publishers.

Billing & trust: paying, cancelling and refunds on Candy AI

Candy AI is run by EverAI Limited, a company based in Malta, and you pay by card. At sign-up I saw an 18+ declaration, with no ID upload or Yoti step, which matches Candy’s underage policy based on self declaration. Its privacy notice says de-identified data can be used to improve the AI.

The charge shows as EverAI on a bank statement, the company’s name, which keeps the app’s name off it.

How do you cancel Candy AI and get a refund?

Cancelling is quick: Settings, then Unsubscribe. On my Premium plan it took four clicks, one question and two confirmations, and no discount offer appeared on the way out. You keep access until the paid period ends. Refunds follow set conditions. Outside the EU and the UK, Candy’s refund rules take a request within a day of the charge, on a subscription with 20 tokens used at most, paid by card. EU and UK buyers get a 14-day withdrawal right, reduced for what they used.
