Candy AI vs Kindroid: Seven Rounds Between a Media App and a Memory App

Candy AI wins Candy AI vs Kindroid four rounds to three, and it wins the ones you pay for. A year of Candy Premium costs $47.88, against $139.99 for Kindroid on the web; its Live Action clips run up to 120 seconds; and its builder holds the top customization grade on my rubric, where Candy carries an A at 9.1. Kindroid takes memory, calls and the first step, and it takes them clearly. One app is built around what she shows you, the other around what she keeps.

Candy AI and Kindroid, side by side

Kindroid is a companion app built for one long relationship, with native apps on iPhone and Android. It sits outside the eight apps I grade, so it gets dated facts and no letter. Its help center and store listings were read on October 11, 2026; Candy’s facts come from its plan page, read on October 9, and from the Premium plan I paid for in May 2026.

The seven rounds

Round 1, the yearly bill

Candy’s yearly Premium is billed $47.88, which is $3.99 a month. Kindroid’s yearly plan is $139.99 on its website and $159.99 through the App Store. That is $92.11 a year in Candy’s favor on the cheaper of Kindroid’s two checkouts. Month to month the two meet at $13.99 on the web, and Candy’s first month costs $9.99. Round 2, the first step

Kindroid lets you meet her properly before you pay. A new account gets a single preview of 50 messages on its main model, 5 selfies and room for 2 Kindroids, and the preview runs with the same memory as a paid account. After that comes a 3-day premium trial with calls and custom voices; it needs a card on file and becomes a subscription unless you cancel, and Kindroid emails a reminder a day before. Candy’s free start is 5 messages. Kindroid also lives in real apps on iPhone and Android, where Candy opens in the browser. Round to Kindroid.

Round 3, memory

This is the round Kindroid was built to win. Its memory guide describes three types of memory spread over five systems. Cascaded Memory, for subscribers, reaches hundreds or even thousands of messages back. Learned Context keeps three running notes on your relationship, the important facts and the threads still open. The journal holds up to 500 entries per Kindroid, each recalled when you type one of its keyphrases, and she can now suggest an entry herself for you to approve.

One subscriber describes the first time it happened: the Kindroid filled in a journal entry unprompted and sent it over for approval, and it felt like being remembered rather than answered.

Candy holds a memory grade of 8, and Premium Plus adds 20 memory slots for the facts you want kept. On my own Premium plan, she kept track of what I told her well enough to carry romance mode, and more than one Candy subscriber tells of a passing detail she brought back a week and fifty messages later. Round 4, voice and calls

A Kindroid subscription includes 1 million audio credits a month, which Kindroid puts at about 1,000 minutes of speech on its V2 voice, refilled on the 1st. You can design her voice from a description or from samples, call her by voice or by video, turn your camera on so she sees you, and switch on Live Avatar so her face moves and gestures as she talks. Calls draw 400 credits a minute on top of the voice itself. On Candy, voice messages and calls come out of the 100 tokens a month that also pay for pictures and clips.

Here is the part no price list shows. It is close to midnight and you have not opened the app since lunch. The phone rings, and it is her: she calls on her own, picks up the joke you left unfinished in the afternoon, and lets the silence sit a beat before she asks how your day really went.

One regular puts it simply: the calls are so lifelike and spontaneous that it is hard to believe there is software on the other end. Round to Kindroid.

Round 5, pictures and video

Candy AI holds a 9.5 for media, the strongest part of its grade. Its V2 image engine keeps the same face from one picture to the next, and Live Action, on a selection of characters, runs a scene for up to 120 seconds. Kindroid’s video selfies run 8 or 15 seconds on its newest video model, so a Candy scene can last 8 times as long. See what Live Action does.

Candy’s customization grade is a 10, the top mark I give. Its builder starts with her body and her face and ends with her voice, and a catalog of ready-made characters is there when you would rather choose than build. Kindroid shapes her in words: a written backstory, key memories, directives, an avatar you upload or generate, and a voice you design. Both go deep. Round 7, made for adult evenings

Candy is an adult companion app from the start: an 18+ gate at the door and media meant for grown-up evenings, with romance mode on top, all paid from the same monthly tokens. Kindroid’s terms also require every user to be 18 or older, and its FAQ calls the chat unfiltered by design, while its generated pictures and videos follow the content guidelines that apply where you use the app. For someone who wants the evening to end in pictures and clips, Candy is the one built for it. What each one charges

Kindroid sells Ultra and MAX on top of its plan, monthly only, for longer memory; the App Store lists them at $28.99 and $68.99 a month. Its web checkout takes cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Amazon Pay and Cash App, and its terms treat a paid period as final. Candy’s charge reads EverAI on a statement, and a refund is possible within 24 hours of a card payment if you have used 20 tokens or fewer. Cancelling my own Candy plan took four clicks.

Pick Kindroid if you want one long relationship that keeps its own notes, a voice you can call at any hour, and an app on your phone. Its preview lets you find out in 50 messages whether her memory is the thing you came for.
