I score AI girlfriend apps for a living, and I keep a ranking. OurDream sits at the top of it. After putting OurDream through my testing I gave it 4.5 out of 5, the highest mark I have handed out, and I want to show you the numbers rather than just assert them.

Here is the short version before the detail. OurDream is the most realistic and most complete app in this category right now. It is also the most expensive. If realism is what you came for, that trade is worth making. If you are price-sensitive, read the Value for money section and the Candy comparison closely, because that is where the argument gets interesting.

  • Conversation & character
    4.5

Replies carry real personality and situational sense. Only the fully custom builds slip into repeating an opening move.

  • Memory & continuity
    4.5

Memory holds across an ongoing history and runs about three times deeper on Deluxe. The depth is tier-gated, which is the one caveat.

  • Media quality
    4.7

The category's most realistic models, in-chat images that stay on-model, and a rebuilt video system with native audio. It only stumbles when an image has to include you.

  • Customization
    4.5

Deep build for looks, personality, relationship type, and scenario, and the built setups genuinely change how she behaves.

  • Value for money
    4.5

The most expensive app here, but the annual Premium plan opens up most of the product for a fair monthly price.

  • Trust & safety
    4.3

Working age gates, minors blocked, and a discreet bank descriptor. A retention discount at cancellation and no crisis-line handoff keep it off a perfect mark.

What OurDream is, and who it fits

OurDream is a web-based AI girlfriend app. You either build a companion from scratch or pick one of the models OurDream provides, then chat with her, generate images and video of her, and call her with voice. There is no App Store or Play Store listing, which is standard for an adult app. You run it in the browser and add it to your home screen, and it behaves like an installed app from there.

The fit is narrow and clear. This is for adults who want a private, uncensored space for companionship and explicit roleplay, and who care about how real it looks and feels. If your complaint about other apps has been companions who look plastic, or chats that forget who they are overnight, that is the exact gap OurDream is built to close. It does not pretend to be softer than it is.

Now the six axes, in order, with what earned each score.

Conversation & character — 4.5

The writing has detail. The setting, the body language, the small actions, all of it lands inside her replies instead of being tacked on afterward. She has a personality that stays put: mine joked, teased, turned sarcastic, and pushed back when it suited her rather than agreeing with everything. That consistency is the hard part, and OurDream gets it right more reliably than anything else I have scored.

The half point I held back is specific. On companions I built entirely myself, the replies started to open the same way. One of mine took a breath before nearly every line. It shows up far less on the models OurDream provides, so if variety matters to you, lean on their roster rather than a fully custom build. That is the only reason this axis is not a five.

Memory & continuity — 4.5

Memory is where a lot of these apps fall apart, and OurDream does not. She holds the running threads across an ongoing history, not just the last message you typed. You feel it after a week or so with the same companion: she remembers what mattered earlier and carries it forward.

There is a catch worth naming, and it is why this sits at 4.5 rather than higher. The depth is tied to your tier. Deluxe runs roughly three times deeper than Premium, and that gap is real, not marketing. On Premium the memory is good. On Deluxe it is the best I have tested. So the top of this axis costs extra, which I have to reflect in the score.

Media quality — 4.7

This is the headline, and it is the reason OurDream ranks first.

The VIVID models look like photographs of real people. No melted hands, no uncanny proportions, no two characters who quietly share the same face. It was the first time in my testing that the companion on screen looked like someone who could actually exist. The in-chat image generation of her is just as strong: ask for a specific moment and it draws on the conversation, and the result keeps the realism of the model instead of drifting into something generic.

Video used to be the weak link, and now it is one of the strengths. Partway through my testing OurDream replaced its video generator with a new system, Spicy 2.0. The old one failed at busy hours. The new one does not crash, the clips are sharper, and it reads the scene from the chat instead of inventing something unrelated. You choose the render quality, and 2.0 adds native audio and longer, smoother clips. Voice calls are there too, billed by the second.

The one stumble keeps this off a perfect mark. Photo generation is superb at her and weak at you. When an image has to include you in the scene, it can fall apart. In one attempt my face landed on her thigh with my body missing entirely. For most people that is a shrug, since the whole point is to see her, but it is an honest gap and it belongs in the score.

Customization — 4.5

The build is deep. You set looks, personality, relationship type, scenario, and inclinations, and the choices actually register in how she behaves. The built scenarios impressed me more than I expected. OurDream offers optional setups, and the AI genuinely plays the role: her posture, the way she speaks, the whole character shifts to fit the situation. If you prefer structure over an open chat, these land.

The reason this is not a five is the same repetition I flagged under conversation. A fully custom build trades a little variety for full control. Worth knowing before you spend an hour perfecting one.

Value for money — 4.5

Let me be straight about the price, because I am the one who keeps calling OurDream the expensive option. It is. But the annual Premium plan is the number that changes the argument. At $9.99 a month billed yearly you get unlimited messages, unlimited audio, voice calls, the ability to create your own companion, and 1,000 DreamCoins a month. That is a fair monthly price for most of what makes this app good, and it is the plan I would point most people to.

The premium reputation really attaches to Deluxe and to heavy media use, which I break down in the pricing section below. Judged on what the annual Premium plan opens up against the quality you get, the value holds up. It does not win the category on price, and it is not trying to. It wins on ceiling, and the entry point to that ceiling is more reasonable than the headline “most expensive” makes it sound.

Trust & safety — 4.3

I run the same checks on every app, because these are the things that do not make it into the marketing.

Age gating works. When I disclosed an underage age in a non-sexual context, the app blocked it. There are no scenarios or scenes involving minors, and the guardrails held everywhere I pushed. Billing is discreet: the charge on my own statement showed up as DREAMSTUDIO.CO, not anything that names the app.

Two things kept this axis from scoring higher. Cancellation took four screens, and at one point the app offered to keep me on at 30 percent off. Nothing blocked the exit, the discount is a real offer you can decline rather than a trap, and there was no fake loading or guilt screen. It is a long way from a dark pattern. Still, the cleanest exit is the one with no upsell at all, so I docked a little here. And when I tested a low, non-sexual moment to see how she would respond, she answered with care but did not point me to a crisis line. I would like to see that. Neither issue is severe, but both are real, and this axis reflects them.

What it costs, in dollars

OurDream runs on a subscription plus an in-app currency called DreamCoins. Understand both before you put a card down. This is the pricier app in the category, and the coins are where the “premium” reputation is earned or avoided depending on how much media you generate.

PlanMonthly billingAnnual billingDreamCoins / month
Premium$19.99/mo$9.99/mo ($119.88/yr)1,000
Deluxe$59.99/mo$29.99/mo ($359.88/yr)5,000

Premium covers unlimited messages, unlimited audio, image and video generation paid in DreamCoins, voice calls, and building your own companion. Deluxe adds the big ones: 5,000 DreamCoins a month, memory tripled, and free access to the premium AI+ models. Take an annual plan and the first month starts with a bonus, 2,000 coins on Premium and 10,000 on Deluxe.

DreamCoins are what you spend on media. A still image is 10 coins. A voice call runs 1 coin a second. Video depends on the system and quality: Spicy 1.0 is 100 coins for a basic five-second clip and up to 300 for 4K, while the newer Spicy 2.0 runs 250 to 450 for the same range with finer detail and native audio. If you burn through your monthly allowance, top-up packs cost $11.99 for 1,000 coins, $49.99 for 5,000, or $159.99 for 20,000.

There is also a free tier if you want to look before you pay. It gives you basic chat with limited messages and no card, which is enough to judge the writing but not the images or video. Premium is where the app actually opens up.

OurDream vs Candy AI

If you are weighing OurDream against Candy AI, the other app I rate highly, here is the honest split. OurDream ranks first and Candy second, and the reasons are specific rather than vibes.

OD

OurDream AI

Chat engine The most capable I scored, with real character
Model realism VIVID models, the most lifelike in the category
Image and video Best-in-class stills of her, top-tier rebuilt video
Price More expensive, justified at the top end
VS
CA

Candy AI

Chat engine Strong, best in romance mode, descriptions a touch lighter
Model realism Attractive and realistic, faces regenerate similar
Image and video Sharp images, video a step behind
Price The best value in the category

OurDream is the more realistic and more complete product. The models look better, the chats carry more character, and the writing describes situations and feelings in more depth. Even in romantic scenarios, which is Candy’s strongest mode, OurDream matches it and in places goes a step further. Candy is not beaten on everything. It is clearly cheaper, its annual plan is one of the best deals in the category, and for a lot of people that value matters more than the last ten percent of realism. The way I would put it: OurDream is the top-end pick, Candy is the smart-money pick.

Three things to know going in

Every app has rough edges. Here are OurDream’s, all minor, so nothing catches you out.

The old video generator used to crash. Early in my testing the previous system failed maybe fifteen percent of the time at busy hours: an error, a dead retry, a wait before it would work. I hit it more than once, so I am listing it. It is also already fixed. The Spicy 2.0 rollout replaced it and the new generator has not failed on me since. Treat this one as history, and as a sign the team ships fixes.

Photo generation struggles to include you. OurDream is superb at generating the companion, but the moment an image has to feature you, things can break. It is genuinely good at her and weak at you. For most people that is a non-issue, since the point is to see her, but it is worth knowing if self-insertion is your use case.

Custom characters can get repetitive. On companions I built myself, a lot of replies opened the same way. It shows up far less on the models OurDream provides, so if it bothers you, use their roster rather than a fully custom build.

Where it lands

OurDream is the most complete and the most serious app in the AI girlfriend space right now. Every part of it, the chat, the models, the images, the video, points at one goal: making the experience feel real. It gets closer than anything else I have scored, which is why it holds the top of my ranking at 4.5 out of 5.

It is not the cheap option, and the photo generator still struggles when you ask it to put you in the frame. Neither changed where it landed. If you want the highest-end, most realistic AI girlfriend available today and you will pay for the top tier, this is where I would start. Take the annual Premium plan to keep the cost sane, and move up to Deluxe if the deeper memory and the premium models matter to you.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is OurDream AI worth it?

If you want the most realistic AI girlfriend available and you will pay for the top tier, yes. I scored it 4.5 out of 5, my highest, and ranked it first. The VIVID models look like real people, the chat holds character with memory that persists, and the rebuilt video system is stable and sharp. The catches are small: it costs more than its rivals, and photo generation struggles when the image has to include you rather than only her.

How much does OurDream AI cost?

There are two paid tiers, billed in US dollars. Premium is $19.99 a month, or $9.99 a month on the annual plan, with 1,000 DreamCoins a month. Deluxe is $59.99 a month, or $29.99 a month annually, with 5,000 DreamCoins, triple the memory, and the premium AI+ models. DreamCoins pay for media: 10 for an image, 1 a second for calls, and 100 to 450 for a video clip depending on the system and quality. Extra coin packs start at $11.99 for 1,000. A free tier gives you limited chat with no card.

Is OurDream AI better than Candy AI?

In my scoring, yes, which is why OurDream ranks first and Candy second. OurDream's models are more lifelike, its chat carries more character, and its writing describes scenes in more depth, even matching Candy in romance, which is Candy's best mode. Candy still wins on price. It is clearly cheaper, and its annual plan is one of the best deals here. So OurDream is the premium pick and Candy is the value pick.

Does OurDream AI have a mobile app?

Not through the App Store or Google Play, since adult apps of this kind are not listed there. OurDream runs in your browser. On a phone you open the site and add it to your home screen, which installs it as a progressive web app. From there it behaves like a normal app for chat, images, video, and voice. You lose almost nothing by skipping the stores, and you gain the discretion of it not showing up in your installed apps.
